Why does my hot water run then stop?

Why does my kitchen faucet cut out when I run hot water?

Sometimes when I’m running water from my kitchen faucet, it will cut out for no apparent reason. It doesn’t seem to matter if I’m running hot or cold water (or a mixture), but does seem to happen more often if I’m running the faucet fully open. I can usually fix it by closing and opening the faucet a couple of times.

When does the hot water heater stop working?

But sometimes, when it gets really cold outside, the hot stops working. And then, magically, it will start working again. There is no drop in pressure, it just cuts off completely for an undetermined amount of time. I can’t pinpoint a pattern other than the cold weather catalyst.

Why does hot water stop flowing after a while?

Why is there no pressure in my hot water heater?
