Why does my heat make so much noise?
The sound can travel throughout the house by way of the ducts. The ducts that send warm air throughout your home are made of thin metal. The metal can expand when heated and will contract as it cools down after the furnace cycles off. As the metal ducts expand, they typically make a banging or booming noise.
Why do I hear running water in my baseboards?
It last about a minute or two, then we hear the regular moans and groans of the baseboards. The rushing water sound is new. This only happens with the heating zones, not the household hot water supply. Any ideas would be appreciated. Have you let the air out of (bled) the system and made sure the circuit/boiler has the proper amount of water in it?

Every time it cycled it was loud, and vibrated the whole floor on the upper level. Someone downstairs said it sounds like gears grinding. The pressure is still good.

What makes water gush out of baseboards in basement?
By the time we got to the basement my husband heard the sound “hit” the furnace and stop. It was kind of like the sound in the fixture supply pipes after you have turned the water off then back on. You hear water moving then it hits the closed valve and stops. I have never heard bubbles before.
