Why does my downstairs toilet overflow when I flush?
There is a clog downstream from your lowest level toilet, but that, too, should show signs an overflow. There is too much water trying to get through your drain/sewer hook up than it can handle. It could be roots or a crushed pipe to any number of causes. The closest pic I could find within a reasonable amount of time was this.
Where is the drain from the downstairs toilet?
Without knowing your house layout, you can follow the drain from the downstairs toilet to where it meets the pipe for the drain from the upstairs toilet. Once you identify the drains intersection, look for another drain from any sink anywhere in the home that is PAST the intersection of the two toilets pipes AND closer to the main sewer drain.
What should I do when I Flush my upstairs toilet?
If there is a sink, run water in it full, drain it, time it. Do it again, but this time flush the toilet. See if the water drains slow. This is just a simple test if do-able to “guess” whether there is a plug/buildup in the pipe where the toilets meet.
Why does my downstairs toilet have bubbles in it?
It drains to where there is almost no water in the base, past the normal point. The downstairs’ toilet’s tank also has bubbles rise up from some black cylinder part. I am obviously not a plumbing expert and just looking for advice.
Why does water keep coming out of my toilet pan?
If after 30-60 minutes, the leak stops, you have confirmed that the ball valve/float valve is the problem. If the water continues to leak into the pan after this time, the flush valve is the problem. If the flush valve is the issue, the fault is almost certainly due to the lack of a watertight seal via the main washer.
What to do when your toilet overflow won’t stop?
If you find that your toilet overflow will not stop running after you flush the toilet, then you may have a problem with the toilet water tank, or with the floating mechanism which shuts down your toilet tank overflow when the bowl has refilled.
What makes a toilet flush powerfully and without clogging?
In order for your toilet to flush powerfully and without clogging, water has to be released from your toilet tank to the bowl within seconds. The water also has to be sufficient. It is the action of releasing a large amount of water suddenly into the bowl that produces a powerful and non-clogging flushing.
Why does my Toilet trap keep clogging up?
Mineral deposits as a result of hard water could also build up inside of your toilet trap. Calcium is the most notorious one. This will reduce the internal diameter of the trap and there be prone to constant clogging. If you suspect this is the problem, you can easily remove your toilet and lay it on its side and check the condition of the trap.
