Why are the pipes on my radiator cold?

Why are the pipes on my radiator cold?

It’s stone cold as are both pipes leading to each side of the radiator. This is what I’ve done troubleshooting wise so far….. 1. I’ve repressurised my combi boiler (showing just over 1.5 now) 2. Bled all radiators 3. Turned off all radiators except the faulty one 4. Checked both valves (TRV and the standard lockshield one) are fully open.

Can a cold lower radiator be a problem?

In many cases, when it comes to a cold lower radiator hose, there is actually no problem at all! The engine needs to be really hot and almost overheat before the thermostat lets the coolant pass by.

Why does my radiator not have hot water?

Its not accidentally off and it did not need bledding but I notice that the pipe below the inlet valve is also cold. It seems hot water is just not making it to the radiator. Any suggestions are welcome, just so I dont look totally uneducated when I call an engineer!!!

What’s the difference between a hot and cold radiator?

When the heating is on the radiator is cold and the pipe leading to the thermostat is also cold, BUT the pipe on the valve side is red hot. The Valve is open as well, well as far as i know as i have turned it both directions to see if it makes any difference. whats wrong and how can i fix it?

What to do if your Radiator and pipes are Stone Cold?

:iagree: give more attention to the trv first, check the pin is not stuck, give the valve a few taps, if that doesn’t improve do some more investigating, close both valves to problem radiator, drain and remove it, whilst its off give it a flush out with the hose pipe. then test each valve in turn, open over a bucket and let a flow of water pass.
