Why are my radiators not working downstairs?
The central heating pump pushes water from your boiler or hot water tank around your central heating system so that the water in your pipe work and radiators is constantly moving. If your radiators are hot upstairs and cold downstairs it is most likely that your pump is not working correctly.

Checked out the cylinder valve, there seems to be no valve attached to any pipes that enter or exit the hot water cylinder. Close down one valve on each of the upstairs rads. This should pump water round the downstairs circuit, and clear what is probably an airlock.
