What happens if you shoot WD-40 up your faucet?
WD-40 will dry off and the tap will be stiff even if momentarily freed long enough for you to be happy and pay the bill. Perhaps you are putting WD-40 on the threads. This would not allow these threads to form a waterproof seal that Teflon thread tape does.
Can you use WD-40 to clean shower doors?
