What does a zone switching relay do?

What does a zone switching relay do?

The ZSR101 single zone switching relay incorporates Power In, Relay 1 and Relay 2 connection terminals to provide a convenient and cost effective way to control a circulator and a boiler operating control in a single zone hydronic heating system.

What is an isolation relay?

Isolation relays are exactly what they imply. They either isolate different voltages through a given voltage signal to complete a process or they isolate a switching process of different voltages to give a result. In other words they isolate dis similar voltages to complete a task.

How do you troubleshoot a taco zone valve?

Grasp the small silver lever on the side of the Taco valve and push it all the way down going from “Auto” to “Manual.” If there is resistance there is water flow going to the valve, if the lever moves with no resistance then the problem is with the water line (such as a leak or lack of boiler pressure) and not the Taco …

Is a thermostat just a relay?

The purpose of any switch is to turn something on and off. A relay turns HVAC equipment on or off. It’s that easy. A thermostat is also just a switch that turns HVAC equipment on and off.

What kind of Relay does Taco sr503-4 use?

I have a Taco SR503-4 Three Zone Switching Relay. The current thermostats use batteries and two wires, R & W. I don’t see a Common to connect the C-wire.

Can a taco switching relay control a loop circulating pump?

Taco switching relays have a transformer built in to power the thermostats. Will this relay control a loop circulating pump that goes on when a zone pump is called to go on? I need a 3 zone switching relay that has 120VAC output for circulators not 24VDC.

Are there any red lights on the sr503?

The lights are red on both zones (actually, three for some reason, in addition to green main light, even though we only have two zones), even when zone 1 should not be heating. 3. The circulator pumps are Grundfos UPS15-58FC. The description says “with integral check valve”. Thanks! Last edited by vadimts65; 11-07-18 at 12:57 AM.

Why are the red lights still on on the Taco relay?

Here is what we found. When the boiler is not working (the temperature in each zone is above the one set on the corresponding thermostat), the green light and ALL THREE red lights on the Taco relay are still on. It was scorching hot in the main part of the house during the night even thought the temperature was set to 67 degrees.
