What causes water to leak out of drain pipe?
1– Water may leak in between the threads on the nut and the drain pipe if no plumbers tape was applied. 2– The rubber sealing washer or o-ring may be squeezed excessively tight causing leakage. 3– The nut may not be tight enough and water is simply coming through. 4– The drain pipe is off center and therefore a tight seal is not possible.
Why does my Rinnai Water Heater have code 10?
Remove burner and inspect copper fins in heat exchanger for a build up between fins. This will cause air flow restrictions which can lead to code 10’s. If build up is present, you will need an air compressor capable of delivering 120 psi of air to blow out the burner and heat exchanger fins.
How to troubleshoot a Rinnai tankless air unit?
Turn off gas valve feeding the appliance. Unplug igniter wire; hold the igniter wire with an insulated pair of pliers about a 1/4″ from a piece of metal. Cycle the unit to ensure you see a spark when unit is cycling.
Who is responsible for a leak in a drain?
Once a drain becomes shared, in a domestic property, the responsibility becomes that of your Local Water Authority. Check your water bill for their contact details. The drain until that point is the property owner’s responsibility. Here at The Leak Team we can survey your drains and pin point problems giving recommendations on the solution.
Why is my Rinnai Water Heater leaking liquid?
We had a contractor install a direct vented natural gas Rinnai water heater a few weeks ago. I just noticed that that the intersection of between two of the tubular sections of the air intake/exhaust vent to the outside has a very slow leak and is dripping a purplish liquid onto our basement floor.

What causes condensation in a Rinnai air conditioner?
Perhaps it is the hot exhaust pipe that is forming condensation when it hits the cold intake air (in the Rinnai it seems the single vent pipe houses the exhaust pipe inside the tube that supplies the fresh air). Does that sound right or is this something I should get examined while it is under warranty.
