Is there any hot water in the upstairs bathroom?
Hot water downstairs is fine as is central heating (downstairs and upstairs). However, we don’t seem to be getting any decent hot water upstairs. Hot water tap in bathroom is ‘warm’ at best. Showers are warm for a bit and then end up luke warm or cold.

The boiler does not know where its hot water is going. Either the flow rate is higher or there is a cold water crossover occuring upstairs because a mixer or joystick control has been fitted without a non return valve. Why is there no hot water in my shower?
Showers are warm for a bit and then end up luke warm or cold. Baths are also luke warm or cold – despite waiting for 5mins for hot water to arrive out of the tap. British Gas have already replaced the heat sensor in the boiler but this has not helped. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem might be?

I have a two story house, their seems to be a good hot water to the first floor faucets but it seems like it takes a long time for the hot water to get to the second floor, then it doesn’t get hot enough. Hi, I drained the house of water, then drained hot water tank and fitted a new immersion heater in the tank bottom. After turning all the taps back on, I have hot and cold downstairs and in the power shower upstairs. However, no cold water in the bathroom upstairs.. No toilet sink or bath. Everywhere else is fine.

Click to expand… Click to expand… The tmv takes hot and cold and outputs warm. I meant remove the tmv, then connect the incoming hot up the output. And cap off the cold. Then that will prove the tmv being faulty before you buy a new one.

Another possible cause could be dead legs (long stretches of pipework) or issues with a blending valve if you have them. ur kitchen tap will be hotter as strait hot water feed from ur boiler

Sounds like the tmv is faulty not the boiler. When cold it should allow through pretty much 100% from the hot side with little resistance. Assume it’s connected the right way round and wasn’t removed previously for some reason. Try temporarily bridging the incoming hot to the outlet to see if it solves it.
