Can a CPVC threaded pipe cause a leak?
Don’t use a CPVC female threaded adapter – ever. Cranking in a metal nipple puts a lot of stress on the plastic and your leak could be from a microscopic crack which may/will eventually split the adapter right off the nipple. There is a combination CPVC/brass adapter.

How to seal a threaded brass to CPVC connection?
