Is the cold water in the bathroom not working?
Discussion in ‘ Plumbing and Central Heating ‘ started by serko, 10 Apr 2011 . The cold water taps in the upstairs bathroom have stopped working (sink, bath and cistern). The hot water taps work in the sink and bath and all other rooms have both hot and cold water.
Is there cold water in the bathtub upstairs?
Check the level of water in the header tank upstairs. Been up into the loft & tank does’nt appear to be frozen.
Is there a way to clear the air lock in the upstairs bathroom?
When I refill the system, no water comes out of the basin cold tap or toilet ball valve. Hot water is fine. Previously, when the CWS tank has run dry (too many baths/showers etc.), the way to clear the airlock has been to run the bath cold tap. Obviously I can’t do this now as it’s capped.
Why is the water pressure in my upstairs bathroom so low?
There are a couple of things that can contribute to low water pressure. First off is the length of pipe the water has to flow through, and how much of that pipe is vertical. An upper floor is at a natural disadvantage in this case. The number of restrictions in the line will also interrupt flow.
Is there hot and cold water in the upstairs bathroom?
Hi, I drained the house of water, then drained hot water tank and fitted a new immersion heater in the tank bottom. After turning all the taps back on, I have hot and cold downstairs and in the power shower upstairs. However, no cold water in the bathroom upstairs.. No toilet sink or bath. Everywhere else is fine.
What to do if your bathroom has no cold water?
Sounds like an air lock you will need to turn the cold water off and drain the system down again once drained close the lowest cold tap ( possibly outside tap). Open all other cold taps and then turn on the mains.
