How often should gas meters be replaced? This all depends on the type of gas meter you have, but it can range from 10 to 25 years. Your energy supplier should send you a letter informing you that your meter will need to be upgraded to a more modern model.

What to do if your gas meter is turned off?
Most people like to be home so their pilot lights can be re-lit, but it is not necessary. If you cannot be home we will put a green tag on your door to let you know your gas is turned off. This tag will include the phone number to call for us to return to turn your gas back on.
