How do I fill my boiler after draining?
Once water has finished draining from your system, shut the drain valve and store the garden hose. Close the bleed valves on your radiators if you have them, then open the water inlet valve on the boiler and allow the system time to refill. If your boiler has an automatic shut-off, it will stop filling on its own.
How does a boiler work and how does it work?
There are 3 different boiler types that all work in different ways: Both system and regular boilers store hot water in a hot water cylinder to be delivered to taps as and when needed. This is great for delivering hot water to multiple taps at the same time but when the cylinder is empty, you’ll have to wait for it to fill up again.
How is the pressure maintained in a boiler?
It draws hot water from the top and supplies pressurised cold water to the bottom, which is how pressure at the taps is maintained.
Can a water boiler be immersed in water?
DO NOT IMMERSE CORD, PLUG, OR WATER BOILER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. THE FLEXIBLE HOSE CONNECTED FROM THE OVER FLOW ALSO ACTS AS A VENT FOR THE APPLIANCE. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THIS FLEXIBLE HOSE BECOME BLOCKED OR RESTRICTED IN ANY WAY. THIS APPLIANCE MUST ONLY BE USED FOR HEATING WATER.
How does a combi boiler in a home work?
Combi boilers work by taking water directly from the mains supply to provide instant hot water to taps and showers at a strong pressure. As compact units that don’t need any external tanks or cylinders, one of the reasons why combi boilers have become the boiler of choice for homeowners across the UK.
