Do you need to replace the Goulds pump?
Goulds pump must have overheated and expanded the pvc pipe which then sprung a leak. Replaced pipe, now pump runs continuously at 68 psi. Do we need to replace the pump?
What causes water to drain out of Goulds pump?
George: There is a packing or valve in the pump that is supposed to keep water in the pump. Either a packing (O ring) or a one-way valve has failed. If it is a “one way valve” there may be a piece of gunk holding the valve open allowing the prime to drain out of the pump.
How often does the H2O cycle in Goulds pump?
When H2O runs pump keeps cycling every 15 to 20 sec. H2O drops to 30psi and pump stays on until 60psi. Then a couple of seconds does again until H2O is shut off. Pump runs for around 30 seconds.
