Moving your furnace is absolutely a task for an HVAC professional. Not to mention the fact that a furnace is almost always right there connected to the air conditioner, so you’ll probably be moving those components as well. All this adds up to increased cost. Moving a furnace a few feet will probably not be a big deal.
