Can a Riello burner run for an hour?
The burner running for an hour & flame cutting out, is usually solenoid or c. box in other makes of burners, but not necessarily in Riellos. I think that is where a lot of people think, often wrongly, electrical. Click to expand… Worth trying that.

Problems with Riello 40 in order of likelyhood are Oil pump first, motor capacitor next, the control box & cell occasionally, the very odd burned out motor & most rare is solenoids ( unlike other solenoids ). That’s assuming you check all the obvious, including motor bearings.
Why is my Riello oil pump not firing?
The burner firing for a couple of secs every 10secs is what a faulty oil pump can do. When you are turning burner off & then on again, this may be making the oil pump engage inside & work for a while. Trust me, I have seen this a lot with Riellos pumps, they can intermittently jam, or miss firing, or not fire at all.

What kind of noise does a Riello burner make?
In the meantime I’m going to have to plod on with my Warmflow which has a Riello 40G3B burner. At the moment it’s making a terrible whining, almost grinding noise when the burner starts up and you can hear it throughout the house through the pipework and radiators.
Why does my Riello 40 burner keep shutting off?
More information would help diagnose the problem, such as burner make/model. seconds from motor starting to lock-out occurring (is this consistent or does burner fire and lock-out at intermittant periods afterwards). A Riello 40 has a one piece electrode, No Ht leads, and the ign Txfr is part of the control box.
