Are toilet hoses Universal?

Are all toilet hoses the same size?
Typically they are 3/8” in diameter, but toilet supply line size can vary in length, usually anywhere from 9” to 20”. Measure for accuracy to ensure you are buying a part that will match your installation. A flexible line is ideal because its pliability allows you to bend the part as needed.
Do you need Teflon tape on toilet supply line?
No tape needed. The seal is either from the compression sleeve, which you would have with solid risers. or at the bottom of the supply line, it will have a shaped end that snugs into the socket of the fill valve, or most of the time, a flat fiber washer for the seal.
How do you replace a water hose on a toilet?
You’ll need two pairs of pliers for stuck connectors; hold the toilet fill valve or shut-off valve steady with one pair while you turn the connector nut with the other. It’s best to screw the new hose to the valve first, then attach it to the toilet.

How do you change the valve on a toilet?
In order to change the valve, you first need to empty the tank of water so that you can work. Find the shut-off valve located on the water line that supplies your toilet. Turn it off, and then flush the toilet one time. The tank should empty as normal with the flush, but will not refill.

How do you replace a toilet valve connector?
Remove the old plumbing tape from the valve threads and wrap new tape around them, then screw on the connector and tighten it with pliers. Don’t over-tighten the valve connector — you can always give it some extra torque if it sprays when you turn on the water.
How do you replace the bolts on a toilet bowl?
Replace the washers and nuts on each toilet bowl bolt and evenly tighten the nuts onto the bolts. Be careful not to over-tighten the nuts as it may crack the porcelain bowl. Replace the bolt caps. Replace the toilet tank atop the bowl and align the shank of the bolts with the holes in the bowl.
